At North Nibley Hog Roasts, we take pride in knowing exactly where our food has come from, with as much care and attention paid to nurturing our meat in the field, to providing mouth-watering food on the plate. We are therefore thrilled to announce that have been awarded a five-star Food Hygiene Rating by the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) in 2017.
The FHRS is a government-run scheme that applies to any food-related services across the UK. It is designed to help customers choose where they want to eat or buy food from.
We were inspected by a food safety officer from the local authority. They studied how hygienically the food is handled, cooked, prepared and stored. The cleanliness, layout, and ventilation of the building, and how we serve and handle our hog-roasts when out at functions.
After being inspected by the food safety officer, we were excited to hear that we had received the maximum five stars for our food hygiene, deeming us ‘very good’. This means that that our ethos of fresh food, from field to plate, is realised in every aspect of our business.
“Myself and the staff are always very focused on making sure we set high standards when it comes to the hygiene of storing, preparing and serving food to keep our customers safe. To be given a 5 star rating shows that this dedication has not gone unrecognised – well done to everyone!” – Shaun Willey, Business Owner.
